Who Needs Character Prints?

When you have paint, wire, foil and some sculpey? I'm not totally done yet, I wanted to give him a weapon of sorts (Two handed maces ftw), but I ran outta armature wire, the sculpey would be too thick to bake without foil and the foil don't wanted to stick to it : P

In other news, I still have almost no idea how to work painter, but I tried to color the environment from last post. Here it is with some color and then the penciled version I used for it. Critque please and Happy Holidays everyone! : D

Environment of the Week

The Challenge:
- An environment with the following:
- Mountains
-Castle
-Snow
Straight from the concept art forums. I went for the Tibetan monk style palace somewhere high in the Himalayans. Basic pen lines and I'm trying to finish it off in Painter X. Anyone got any experience with it?

My final from Screen Design class. We had to do a 15 second cut out animation using after effects. I based my whole look and design around food . Everything in the video is made of a food item besides the toucan's feet (rakes) and the monkey's nose (a tadpole).

My first assignment from Screen Design class. It was a 7 second looping hand drawn animation that explored the use of depth on and off screen. The idea was to show space using sounds, actions, environment, etc.

My bronze bull bling. I wish I would have gotten a better picture, but it's on display at SCAD.

I'm Late I'm Late I'm Late!

Revisiting

I kinda gave up on the whole of idea of building my portfolio over break and decided to just pratice and chill out. That doesn't mean I'm gonna stop posting, but it just kinda makes thing less stressful. I've also been keeping up with my daily self portraits and with probably put them up sometime this weekend. I'm also working on a munny version of myself that I'm pretty proud of.

Slow Down

I tired to slow down and kinda finish somethings today. I got realyl distracted though trying to fix my mac ;3;

First pass at painting it. Came out looking really dusty and was taking too long. I like it now though better than the next one.

The colors are kinda funky on the sky, but I really like the atmosphereic perspective on this one. I wish I could just combined the two and make something awesome!

Here's that same ram with some stuff on it. The head looks really wierd still ;3;

Fire And Ice

Hey y'all! I finally found out what I'm trying to learn with all these doodles. It's speed paint. If anyone has any helpful links that'd be awesome! Also anyone else have an exprience with open canvas? That's what I've been using.... Oh well. Here are my drawings for the day:

Once again trying to analyize form through color on the section above. I think it works pretty well ,but the ice could be more refine and better defined. Then what's a winter scene with out some artic animals? I really like that walrus for some reason...

I'm so frustrated right now because I had a finished version of this, but for some reason I can't open it now. It's going to be this ram with horns and a tail made of flames with this cracked back with lava coming out. It's gonna be kinda like a dwaftish related thing. I dunno...

First Post!

Hey readers!

I created this blog so that people can keep up with my artwork whenever they want. I'ill try to keep up with this while I'm at school, but for the most part this is going to be just for winter break from SCAD. Here's my first samplings of works from the last few days (Keep in mind most of these aren't finished at all or were just praticing peices!):

Some kinda of crazy space desert. I was trying to understand using just color as a way of define form. I dunno, I think this could be really cool if I finish it off...



Aurora /snow style picture. I was trying to understand form with color again and then how to draw rocks. They're really freaking hard ;3;



Some kind of canyon with a mine shaft in it. I tried to lay some color or tones, but it got really frustrating. Hopefully I'ill return to it...

Total Lich King ripoff! xD Still I'm gonna work really hard to finish this one off.The general idea was a giant riding pangolin much like a kodo or something.
